Face-to-face and online training: advantages and security measures

Once the months of confinement had passed, in which the adaptation to online classes was done in record time and with a remarkable success rate, at Academia Guiu we have resumed face-to-face classes for the 2020-2021 academic year. We return with strict security measures, but prepared to adapt teaching methodologies if the health situation changes suddenly.

Both the teaching team and the management team of Academia Guiu are aware that the new course brings with it uncertainty and unforeseen situations derived from the critical context of COVID-19. After months of hard work and exceptional efforts by the entire team, the decision was made to resume face-to-face classes with the conviction that it was what was really necessary for the success of our students.

During the month of October the annual preparation courses for the selectivity for national and international baccalaureate began. In both cases, students can opt for face-to-face and / or online training, as the academy has implemented a live class broadcasting system that allows both attendance and participation during the lessons. Thus, students who for various reasons cannot or do not wish to return to the classroom, can train and learn exactly the same as those who attend classes at Academia Guiu in person. Students of private classes, language courses and preparation of aptitude tests can also take advantage of this combination of online and face-to-face classes.

Regarding the security measures applied in the academy, wall thermometers have been installed at the entrances to each campus, so that students can take their temperature before entering the center and without the need for contact (the device does the measurement thanks to to an infrared system and shows it through a screen). It is mandatory to use the hydroalcoholic gel and wear the mask at all times within the facilities.

In general, the entire Guiu Academy team is optimistic about the new course. During 2020, despite the difficulties experienced by the pandemic, the majority of students successfully passed their respective courses and the rate of students who managed to enter the university courses for which they had pre-registered even increased compared to previous years. Adapting to the new guidelines within the field of education is sometimes difficult to assimilate, but the commitment to the students will make them all rise to the occasion.
