What options do you have at the end of a CFGS?

If you are a second year student of a Higher Level Training Cycle, you may be wondering what options you have once the course is finished. You may want to have your first experience in the world of work, or you may prefer to continue studying to specialize more. Whatever your situation, you should know that, once you finish your Higher Cycle, the doors of the university will be open to you at any time. You read correctly: at any time! If you want to know more, keep reading…

Access to university without Selectivity

This is the best of all. To access the university from CFGS you do not need to pass any test: the average grade you obtain in your degree is the one that will be taken into account to choose the degree you want. You will only have to pre-register at the university access portal, presenting the certificate of your degree notes. This note is valid indefinitely, so it is not mandatory that you apply for admission as soon as the cycle ends.

What can you do if your CFGS grade falls short?

If the average mark of your Higher Degree qualification does not reach the cut mark of the degree you want to study, you have the possibility of improving it by taking the Specific Phase of the 2020 Selectivity exam. In this way, you will be able to raise your grade up to 4 points of access. This part of the test allows you to take a maximum of 3 subjects, but you must bear in mind that the calculation of the admission grade will be made with the two best grades for the subjects passed that, once weighted, will provide the best admission grade. . This is the formula with which your final grade will be obtained:

Admission note = NMC + (a * M1) + (b * M2)

We break down each point.

NMC: It is the average mark of the training cycle (maximum 10 points).

M1, M2: they are the two best grades of the subjects passed in the specific phase that, once weighted, provide the best admission grade (maximum 4 points).

a, b: are the weighting parameters of the subjects of the specific phase (0.1 or 0.2).

Calls for the Selectivity exams

Students who come from CFGS have two opportunities a year to appear in the Specific Selectivity Phase, corresponding to the same dates as the Bachillerato students.

Credit validation

If you want to enter the university after completing your training cycle, you should know that some degrees validate ECTS credits from the subjects approved during the course, provided they belong to the same branch of knowledge.

Check the website of the faculty corresponding to the degree you have chosen to find information on the correspondence of credits.
